Polestar 1 To Appear In America For The First Time At Pebble Beach

Want to see the new Polestar 1 up close? Until now, if you live in the United States, you’ve had to venture overseas to catch a glimpse. But the hybrid coupe is now poised to appear in North America for the first time.

The Volvo offshoot will showcase the Polestar 1 during Monterey Car Week next month in Northern California, allowing the nearly 200 American customers who’ve already placed their deposits to see the car they’re buying in the flesh (or carbon).

The vehicle will be on static display at the Polestar pavilion on Peter Hay Hill at Pebble Beach, as well as at The Quail “motorsports gathering” on the Friday and on the Sunday on the Concept Lawn at the premier Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where the company’s CEO and chief designer Thomas Ingenlath has been named an honorary judge this year.

“The invitation to be an honorary judge at the Concours d’Elegance is a great honour for me,” said Ingenlath. “As a car designer you take so much inspiration by looking at the diverse mix of the world’s most famous and beautiful historic cars alongside today’s avant-garde designs. It will be a truly unique experience.”

Though it’s the first in America, Monterey is just the latest stop on a world tour which Polestar has undertaken with its debut model. Since its reveal late last year, the Polestar 1 has been shown in Beijing, Geneva, and Goodwood.

“It’s great to bring Polestar to America,” declared Ingenlath. “North America is a major market for our new brand and we have received great feedback and high interest in the Polestar 1 from our American customers.”
