Chennai:
The Madurai bench of Madras High Court on Friday ordered the Thoothukudi collector Sandeep Nanduri to appear in front of the court in case relating to the mass shooting during the anti-Sterlite protest in Thoothukudi in which 13 people were killed.
The Court passed this order while hearing a petition filed by advocate Hari Raghavan’s wife. The Court also questioned as to how the arrested protesters were labeled as anti-social. Advocate Hari Raghavan of Tuticorin was accused by the state of aiding in violence during the protests against the Sterlite factory.
The advocate surrendered before the court on July 6 following the surrender of another advocate S Vanchinathan, who was also accused of aiding the violence.
