Party wing assists police personnel

When compared to past weekend, the crowds thinned outside Kauvery Hospital on Monday. But the police decided not to leave anything to chance, after DMK cadre, who had assembled in front of the premises in anticipation of news about their leader’s health, refused to budge on Sunday night.

Over 300 police personnel have been deployed round-the-clock outside the hospital. They have been stationed on T.T.K. Road, Luz Church Road and at the gates of the hospital to control the surging crowd.

They have made elaborate security arrangements and have been effecting minor traffic diversions as and when needed.

On Monday, the members of the DMK’s Thondar Ani Padai were seen assisting the police in crowd control.

Police personnel were also deployed on the T.T.K. Road bridge to ease traffic movement, as motorists were keen on making a stop to take a peek at what was happening below.
