Private equity firm Everstone today said it has appointed Sanjay Gujral as new chief operating officer.
Gujral is replacing Sanjoy Chatterjee who is relocating to New York to become the President of Americas and Global Head of Business Development for Everstone, the company said in a release.
Gujral will work closely with Sameer Sain, co-founder and chief executive officer of Everstone Group, it added.
Earlier Gujral was part of the leadership team and investment committee at L Catterton Asia and was an executive director at Everstone Capital in India. He has over 20 years of experience in private equity and financial advisory. PTI

The Commerce Ministry today said a startup India yatra was launched in Raipur with a view to promoting budding entrepreneurs in the country.
"The Startup India van will travel to cities of Chhattisgarh like Korba, Koria, Surguja, Jashpur, Raigarh, Balodabazar, Durg and hold boot camps in the engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes," the ministry said in a statement.
Startup India Yatra van is equipped with facilities for individuals and startups to pitch their ideas. It has already been held in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.
To promote job creation in tier 2 and tier 3 towns and cities, Startup India organizes the Startup India Yatra in one state every month, it added.
