Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) is geared up for the prestigious
Brahmotsavams of
Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala from September 13 to October 18.
TTD executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal, after a meeting with the officials including Chittoor district collector P S Pradyumna and Tirupati urban SP Abhishek Mahanti, told journalists that the arrangements are being done for the prestigious event.
The Palakatla Brahmotsavams will be held from September 13 to 21 atop the hill. The rituals such as Garudavahanam on September 17, Swarna Ratham on September 18, Radhotsavam on September 20 and Chakrasnanam on September 21 will be conducted, he said.
Similarly, Navaratri Brahmotsavams will be celebrated from October 10 to 18, the TTD EO said. As part of Brahmotsavams, Garudavahanam will be held on October 14 followed by Swarna Ratham on October 17 and Chakrasnanam on October 18.
Silk robes on Sept 13
The EO said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will present the silk robes to the Lord on September 13 as part of the celebrations. The TTD would coordinate with all the departments of the civic and temple administration for the successful conduct of the festival.
The EO further said that they have decided to change the time of the Vahana Seva and Garuda Seva of the Lord in the evening keeping in view the convenience of the devotees. This time, the Vahana Seva would be held every day from 8pm to 10pm. Similarly the Garuda seva would be held from 7pm to 12am on the day.
Singhal said that they have decided to keep 7 lakh laddus in reserve. “Every facility would be made available to the devotees during the festival to ensure their comfortable visit to the temple during the festival season,” he said.
He further said that they have allocated Rs 4.50 crore budget for the Brahmotsavams this year and asserted that they were ready to increase the budget to ensure better facilities to the devotees.
The EO further said that they have also decided to impose traffic regulations during the Brahmotsavams including the Garuda Seva and other days. They have also requested the APSRTC to operate additional bus services in the temple town during the season, he said.
TTD JEOs S Srinivasa Raju and P Bhaskar and others were present at the meeting.
