SFI takes out cycle rally

In an effort to highlight the infrastructure deficiencies and other issues plaguing the State-run schools and colleges in the district, as many as 30 members of the Students Federation of India (SFI) embarked on an 11-day district-wide cycle yatra christened “'Vidyarthi Poru Garjana” in Sattupalli town on Monday.

SFI State secretary B. Narasimha Rao and the Telangana State United Teachers Federation State secretary K. Ramesh flagged off the yatra at the JVR Government Degree College in Sattupalli. The 30-member team led by the SFI district president Ch. Ramesh and secretary T. Nagaraju will pedal their way to various State-run educational institutions in 21 mandals to gain first-hand information on the conditions prevailing in the Government schools including residential educational institutions and colleges all over the district.

The yatra will culminate in a meeting in the district headquarters town here on August 9.

The SFI district unit will organise a dharna in the town on August 10 to press for the redressal of students’ grievances and provision of basic facilities in all the government educational institutions and hostels.
