Man arrested for picking pockets of DMK cadre

The party cadre themselves recovered the phones and purses and handed them over to the members.

CHENNAI : A 32-year-old man who picked pockets and stole around Rs 60,000 worth mobile phones and Rs 2,000 in cash from the DMK party cadre, who had gathered outside the Kauvery Hospital, was arrested on Monday morning.R Muthukumar (32) from Pudupet was found stealing mobile phones and purses from the men in front  of the Kauvery Hospital. Over 500 party cadre have been seen raising slogans in Alwarpet for the three days.  Once the men noticed the suspect, they thrashed him. 

The police on duty nabbed the suspect and handed him over to the Abhiramapuram police, who arrested him and remanded him in judicial custody. The party cadre themselves recovered the phones and purses and handed them over to the members.
