Anil Kapoor accepts he did Salman Khan’s Race 3 only ‘for the money’

Anil Kapoor is the youngest veteran actor of Bollywood and we have finally unlocked the secret of his eternal youth – a very sorted world view and refusal to take stress. Talking about his life and career, the actor told Deccan Chronicle in an interview, “Some of my friends remind me that I am a hero and that I need to throw some tantrums, but I have no ego at all. I have been brought up like a common man since childhood. Yes, if I get what I want, I feel happy about it, but I keep my dreams under control.”

For an actor who gets applause for his roles, his last film, Race 3, may have left his fans confused. The film with its cringe-worthy dialogues and terrible reviews had Salman Khan as the lead actor with Anil in a pivotal role. So, why did he agree to do Race 3? “For the money… Whenever I sign a film, I obviously think of the amount of money that it will fetch me. Acting is my profession, it earns me my daily bread and butter. If I do not give importance to earning enough money, how will I run my kitchen? My wife will never allow me into the house if I do not earn money, so it’s important to me,” he said in the interview.

He also said how he and his wife have arguments like any other couple. “My wife keeps fighting with me, but it’s me who has to go and beg her pardon because I believe in reconciliation,” the actor said.
