Parle Products Ltd. has announced its foray into premium health biscuits to capitalise on the growing demand for healthy snacks from a segment of consumers.
The new range comprising Nutricrunch Digestive, Nutricrunch Honey and Oats, Nutricrunch Digestive Marie and Nutricrunch Lite Cracker have been introduced under the company’s Platina brand, which is into premium products.
Mayank Shah, category head, Parle Products, said: “Indians are getting extremely health conscious and are constantly looking for wholesome products that offer multiple nutritional benefits. With Nutricrunch, we plan to offer consumers a healthy snack that is not just high in fibre, but also aids multiple lifestyle issues such as weight management, sugar control, cholesterol management and nutrient deficiency.”
The new range will be available across markets by the end of August and Parle Products aims to garner 10% market share of this segment, which is estimated at ₹1,200 crore.
25% growth
Mr. Shah said that the company’s Platina range, which was introduced 15 months ago, had been doing well and is growing at 25%.
“It is going to go up and the health range of products will propel growth of the premium range.
Currently, Platina range contributes 15% to the company’s turnover and in two years this figure will go up to 20%,” Mr. Shah said.
