Broome woman faces court on attempted murder charge after man found bleeding

A 36-year-old woman has been charged over an alleged attempted murder in Broome in WA's Kimberley region.

Broome detectives said the woman was charged after an alleged assault at a house in Taiji Road, Cable Beach against a 67-year-old man early on Monday morning.

Police said officers went to the house about 3am to respond to a family violence incident and found the man bleeding heavily.

He was taken to Broome Hospital and then flown to Perth by the Royal Flying Doctors Service where he remains in a critical condition.

Police said the woman has been charged with attempted unlawfully to kill and appeared in the Broome Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

She was remanded to appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court next month.
