Father faces music for allowing minor girl ride two-wheeler

The Motor Driving Department (MVD) has cancelled the driving licence of a man after a video of his four-year-old daughter riding a scooter with him riding pillion went viral on social media.

KOCHI:The Motor Driving Department (MVD) has cancelled the driving licence of a man after a video of his four-year-old daughter riding a scooter with him riding pillion went viral on social media.

MVD suspended the licence of Shibu Francis, a resident of Palluruthy, for one year. A video was posted on Sunday.The family, including Shibu’s wife and two children, was travelling to Aluva when the video was posted.

“We have suspended the licence of the person for one year and he is directed to approach the Ernakulam RTO for further proceedings,” said Vinod Kumar, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Kochi.

The Edappally police station officers said they are yet to register a case against Shibu. “We have not yet registered a case against the rider. But further proceedings will take place soon,” said a police officer.
