LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha leader Pooja Shukla claimed that she was detained by police before PM Narendra Modi’s arrival in the city on Saturday. In a Facebook post, she alleged that police officials manhandled her and even threatened to kill her in an encounter.

Shukla claimed that seven policemen and a woman constable dragged her when she came out of her friend’s flat in Ismailganj to go to Sheroes café in Gomtinagar and snatched her bag and phone. Pooja told TOI, “They threatened me by narrating stories about fake encounters and freed me at 9pm.”

When TOI questioned ASP (trans-Gomti) Harendra Kumar, he said that said that police force was deployed to keep surveillance on some leaders but did not detain any one. Inspector, Mahila Thana, Sharda Chaudhary said that some women constables were sent to apprehend a girl student leader but she was not aware of the name and profile.

Last year, Shukla was arrested for showing black flags to CM Yogi Adityanath who was on his way to attend an event at Lucknow University.
