AIIMS students in MP seek probe in suicide by student in Raj

Students of the All Institute of Medical Sciences here have demanded an "impartial probe" into the alleged suicide by a 20-year-old female student of the AIIMS,

Yadav, a native of district in Rajasthan, had taken admission in AIIMS, Jodhpur, on July 23. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her hostel room on the night of July 26.

"We demand an impartial probe into the suicide of the student, who took the extreme step allegedly due to harassment at the hands of a teacher," Sant Guru Prasad, former of student's union, told reporters here.

This is the third such incident at AIIMS, Jodhpur, in the last three years, claimed Prasad, who led the candle march.

The students have also written a letter to Union Health Minister J P Nadda and of AIIMS, Jodhpur, on the issue.

The police in had said after the incident that "in a suicide note, Yadav advised a to behave properly with students".
