Ganjam Biju Sr Citizens’ Forum meets

The Ganjam District Biju Patnaik Senior Citizen Forum organised a meeting under chairmanship of its president Rasabihari Das here on Sunday.

General secretary Simanchal Prasad Bisoyi read out the annual report and treasurer Bhismascharya Chaudhury presented budget of the forum. Pravakar Sahu gave a vote of thanks.

On the occasion, birthday cakes were cut and sweet packets were distributed for 77 senior citizens, who were born in the month of July, on the occasion.  They were also given identity cards.

Senior citizens were asked to submit applications before the Culture Officer by August 10 if they intend to go on prigramage sponsored by the State Government. Members demanded for a special counter for senior citizens at the Head office here.

Various issues relating to the interest of senior citizes were discussed at the meeting.

Among others, former Berhampur Vice-Chancellor Jayanta Mohapatra, Dr Rabi Narayan Mishra, Surya Kanta Patro, Bhaskar Behera, Rabindra Moharana, Niranjan Mohanty, retired bank officer Ramanath Panda, Pravat Kumar Purohit, Girish Patro, Prasant Kumar Das, Aparna Sahu, Ashok Kumar Sahu, Girish Prasad Mishra, Sirish Prasad Mishra and the Saundhik Samaj president were present.
