‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ promoting PC: BJP

The BJP on Sunday alleged that that the State’s BJD Government has failed to provide basic amenities to people during its last 19 years of rule and the ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ programme has been a source of PC (percentage) collection by BJD leaders in the villages.

“It is disappointing that no elected people’s representative has been involved in the Ama Gaon Ama Bikash sc scheme. BJD leaders are collecting three to 10 per cent from Anganwadi Workers,” alleged BJP national general secretary and Odisha-in-charge Arun Singh at a Press meet here.

Singh further alleged the State Government has formed the Biju Yuva Bahini in order to cover up its failures ahead of the 2019 general elections.

He said the BJD Government has failed to provide uninterrupted electricity and health services to people.

Regarding the proposed Food Security Scheme of the State Government, he said, “The Chief Minister has indirectly agreed that there are 39 lakh people remaining hungry in the State. It is the biggest failure of the BJD Government,” he said.

He claimed that the BJP organisaion habeen strengthened 10 fold as party activists are working at a faster rate at booth level. The 120 plus target of BJP president Amit Shah would certainly be achieved, he said.

Reacting sharply to Singh’s comments, BJD spokesperson Sambit Patra said people are very much aware about how the Naveen Patnaik Government has expedited the development process in the State during its four terms. Singh’s comments reveal jealousy of the saffron party, he said.

“Before pointing fingers at the State Government, Singh should look at the recognition and awards the BJP-led Central regime has given to the Odisha Government.

He should keep it in mind how the Central Government has failed in its commitment to deposit Rs 15 lakh in each individual’s account and to generate 2 crore jobs every year,” said Patra.
