NEW DELHI: The final draft of Assam’s National Register of Citizens (
NRC) was released today, with 2.9 crore out of 3.29 crore applicants listed as citizens, and 40 lakh people from the state left out.
In order to check whether a specific name is on the final draft, a person would need to enter their Application Receipt Number (ARN), followed by a CAPTCHA code. People can check names online in
www.nrcaassam.nic.in,
www.assam.mygov.in,
wwwhomeandpolitical.assam.gov.in.
Pre-registered mobiles can get the names by sending SMS to 7899405444 or 7026321133 or 7026861122 or 9765556555
Sending direct SMS to these numbers by typing ARN space ARN will provide information after 12 PM.
There is also helpline nos 15107 for Assamand 18003453762 for outside
Assam.
The NRC draft is available across all NRC Sewa Kendras, with an in-built search option to check for names on the list.
