Weather Update: Warmer weather for northern parts of SA

The northern parts of the country are expected to enjoy warmer weather conditions on Tuesday.

Warnings

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, extreme western Free State, extreme southwestern North West, and the northern parts of the Eastern Cape.

Rain

Drizzle patches and rain is possible for the western and southwestern parts of the Western Cape.

Temperatures

Minimum temperatures are expected to be cool to cold across most parts of the country, with very cold conditions over the central interior.

The coldest place will be Sutherland in the Northern Cape, dropping to a below-freezing -6°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to be cool in the southern parts of the country to warm in the northern regions.

Cold conditions are expected over the extreme southwestern high ground of the Northern Cape and west to southwestern parts of the Western Cape.

The warmest place will be Mafikeng in the North West, reaching a high of 28°C.

Pretoria is expected to reach a high of 26°C, while Johannesburg is expected to reach a maximum of 25°C. Bloemfontein will reach a maximum of 24°C.

Along the coast, Cape Town will reach 16°C, Port Elizabeth is expected to reach 22°C and Durban is expecting a maximum of 23°C.
