Three women arrested in Alwar with 40 kg suspected beef: police

Three women were arrested today with nearly 40 kilograms of suspected beef in in Rajasthan's district, police said.

Acting on a tip-off that some people had slaughtered a cow and were about to sell the beef, a police team raided a house in where the women were packaging the meat, SHO Police Station said.

He said 40 kilograms of "suspected beef" was seized and three women arrested.

Singh said a had confirmed it to be beef and samples were sent to a forensic expert for further confirmatory report.

The SHO said they had recovered cow skin from the spot and the arrested women had accepted the crime.

An FIR was registered against five persons under the sections of Bovine Animal Act and the hunt for two absconding accused is on, he added.
