Vadodara: The traffic police on Monday held a meeting with the vendors who install dark films on the cars in the city. Amita Vanani, ACP (traffic) met the shop-owners and instructed them to not install dark films on glasses of vehicles. The city police have been conducting a drive to remove dark films from the car windows over last few days.
“We have been conducting the drive to remove dark films from vehicles but many car owners visit these shops and reinstall the dark films. So, we called owners of the shops that install dark films on cars. We directed them to not install dark films on car windows as it is illegal,” Vanani told TOI. The police informed the shop-owners about their drive and why it is mandatory to have see-through window glasses.

The cops have undertaken a major campaign to not just remove dark films from cars but also crack down on vehicles carrying fancy number plates. Hundreds of citizens have been penalized over last one week and the drive is expected to continue in the coming days.
