XIMB’s X-SYS holds ‘Envision 2018’

The Systems Association of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), X-SYS, organised its annual business conclave ‘Envision 2018’ on this year’s theme ‘Leveraging A.I. for Business Transformation’ here on Sunday.

Collabera Inc global chief digital officer Anjani Kumar, M&M Financial Services Ltd Business and Future Tech head Suresh A Shan, Yes Bank Ltd Artificial Intelligence head Utpal Chakraborty, Safexpress Pvt Ltd group CIO Kapil Mahajan and Avasant director Shobhit Patnaik attended as guests.

With the start Anjani Kumar stated that how popular AI has became among people; some even saw it as a beacon of light in an otherwise dull future. AI is the buzzword of the industry, he added.

Suresh A Shan elucidated on how India perceives artificial intelligence and how customers expect a lot without fully being aware of the scope and purpose of AI. He also explained the persistent fear factor regarding AI that has been created among executives. Kapil Mahajan stressed over how crucial and interesting this current phase of technology is and described the phase to be the one of change, with big things around the corner. While Utpal Chakraborty explained the known areas of Artificial Intelligence such as health care and tourism, Shobhit Patnaik spoke about AI as a component of a larger ecosystem where it works in combination with a number of other technologies to run a business.

Besides a question and answer session was also held. Among others, XIMB Information Systems professor Sanjay Mohapatra and Information Systems Associate Professor Bhaskar Basu were present.
