The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, has said that he is going to inspect the progress of pending irrigation projects from the first week of August. He has asked the officials to submit a weekly report on the progress of all 56 priority irrigation projects in the State.
He was conducting a review meeting on Polavaram project and the ongoing 56 priority projects at Amaravati on Monday. The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the pending work.
The officials informed him that 56.90 per cent of Polavaram project work, including 76.60 per cent earth work and 31.60 per cent concrete work, had been completed so far. They said 90 per cent of Polavaram right main canal and 62.41 per cent left main canal work had been completed. Coming to radial gates, they said fabrication had been completed up to 61.67 per cent and jet grouting of coffer dam completed up to 93 per cent.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to complete the land acquisition and R&R package work on a priority basis to complete the project on schedule.
Referring to the progress of 56 priority projects, the Chief Minister said nine projects were inaugurated, six projects were ready for inauguration, work in progress for 26 projects and work had been taken up recently for 15 more projects.
The Minister for Water Resources, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, and senior irrigation officials participated in the meet.
