Hundreds of residents from Gurgaon's MG Road gathered in front of the MG Road Metro Station for a candlelight vigil recently. And a week after that, the residents assembled again at the same venue on Sunday to discuss their other problems with the authorities. The new Police Commissioner, KK Rao, and Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh addressed the gathering and promised Gurugrammers that they will work to restore Mall Mile’s glory.

Following reports of illegal activities, the Gurgaon Police has recently withdrawn the NOCs (no objection certificates) it had issued to 10 of the 15 nightclubs in the MG Road area.
Haryana cabinet minister Rao Narbir Singh said, "I had promised you that I'll come back after a week with solutions. The civil authorities of Gurgaon and the Gurgaon Police are working together to ensure that MG Road is redeveloped into a model road."
