Google Pixel 3 XL 'Clearly White' variant leaked in hands-on image with notch, glass back and dual front cameras

The Pixel 3 XL will have a notch (no surprises), dual front cameras and might support wireless charging.

Codenamed ‘crosshatch’, the Pixel 3 XL will also feature a notch if this image is to be believed. No surprises there, as it confirms a previous leak showing the same. Google's support for the notch element in Android P is also an indication that the company will adopt the same on its own flagship Pixel devices. In the leaked Pixel 3 XL unit, the notch is on the larger side and despite the notch, there are significant bezels on the phone.

Now, even though Google is retaining the single camera on the back of the Pixel 3 XL, up front will see a dual camera unit for the first time. The front will also house a speaker at the bottom.

Further, the hands-on image shows the fastboot screen of the Pixel 3 XL, revealing that the phone will pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. According to the leakster, the Pixel 3 XL in the image could not boot any further because it has been “remotely erased by Google.”

Recent rumours also state that Google is working on a wireless-charging dock for the upcoming Pixel 3 series of devices. That should explain Google’s decision to go for glass.

A lot of uncertainty surrounds the purported leaked hands-on images. The Google logo on the phone is also not the same as what it should be. It’s also unconfirmed whether the timeline of the launch will remain the same. Last year, and the year before, the Pixel phones were announced on October 4 by Google. We’ll find out about this year’s plans soon enough.
