Machiwara man dies in accident in Germany

LUDHIANA: A resident of a village in Machiwara, who worked as a pizza delivery boy, succumbed to injuries that he sustained in a road accident in Bayreuth town of Germany on Friday.

The deceased was identified as 38-year-old Davinder Singh Binder of Lubangarh village of Machhiwara. The family members said Davinder had suffered serious injuries in the accident in the German town on July 5 and succumbed to his injuries late on Friday evening.

Davinder’s father Arjan Singh said his son had gone to Italy for work in 1998 and settled there permanently after his marriage. He said his son had shifted to Bayreuth a year back and worked as a pizza delivery boy.

Villagers close to the family said on July 5, he was on his way to deliver pizza when he lost control of his car and met with an accident. They added that while coming out of the car, Davinder received severe burns because of an explosion in his vehicle.

He said the family is waiting for German police to send the body to India.

Family members said Davinder is survived by two children and wife, who lived in Italy.
