Shravani mela begins with religious fervour

Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Saturday inaugurated the grand Shravani Mela at Dumma in Deoghar wishing from the Lord Shiva that he gives power to the State to be self-supporting, prosperous and developed. The CM said that this is an opportunity for residents of Deoghar to discharge their responsibilities. Deoghar is ready to welcome devotees and kanwariyas and it will emerge as the most famous cultural centre in the country and the whole world soon.

Das said process of construction of Deoghar-Basukinath four-lane road will start soon. The construction of Kanwaria Path and Queue Complex will begin in the second phase after monsoon. To make Deoghar world class city work is underway in a planned manner so it attracts tourists. This will strengthen the economy of the State and create jobs.

The CM said replica of Char Dham created on the Shivalok premises will be embodied here soon so that people coming here can get to see Char Dham throughout year.

On the occasion, he expressed happiness for keeping the foundation stone for housing for families displaced in the expansion of Deoghar Airport and also for those who received land ownership papers. “Land and civil facilities will be provided to all the displaced families. The State Government will spend Rs. 10 crores to provide civil facilities. The government has disbursed 392 crores among the displaced and 42 crores will be disbursed soon. The government is working on the policy of rehabilitation and then displacement,” said the CM.

He appreciated the efforts of women of SHGs working in Shivalok. He said efforts made by the government for making them self dependent worth their effort. These women have a major contribution in promoting village industries in Jharkhand.

The CM said on every Monday of the month of Shravan, he will talk to devotees and Kanwariyas so that their problems can be solved. They can also put their point on social media like Twitter and Facebook.

Das added during the fair from the commissioner to other personnel, everyone should discharge their duty with honesty. The government will not tolerate any kind of negligence. He asked everyone to work honestly so that Shravani Mela establishes its strong identity globally.

During the inaugural programme the CM handed over symbolic land ownership documents to Kailash Das, Dhaneshwar Manjhi, Priya Devi, Chandni Devi, Krishna Manjhi, Pushpa Devi, Chaitu Manjhi, who were displaced in the expansion work of the Deoghar Airport. He also provided a cheque of Rs. 1 lakh to Anushka Anand, who won the Miss Jharkhand title.

The CM laid foundation of Madhupur Urban Water Supply Scheme worth Rs 61 crore, grand gates at Nandi and Dardmara and alsoof the housing complex being built for the displaced of Deoghar Airport expansion.

On this occasion Ministers Amar Kumar Bauri, Louis Marandi, Raj Paliwar, MLAs Radha Krishna Kishore, Narayan Das, Janki Yadav, Badal Patralekh, Jitu Charan Ram, Secretary of Tourism department Manish Ranjan and a large number of people were present.
