The Uttar Pradesh got a feather on its cap as Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that over 46,000 beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh have surrendered their houses and asked Government to allot the same to poor people.

“Have faith on the people and they will spring surprise. Today Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told me that 46,000 people have surrendered their houses because their standard of living has improved or they have shifted to cities with their wards. This is a great news in a country where subsidy is so attached with politics,” Modi said during his during his address in a function `Transforming Urban landscape’ here on Saturday.

He said he had appealed to the people to forgo their gas subsidy and 1.25 crore people followed he advise. Similarly, over 40 lakh people, who are entitled to avail senior citizen’s concession, refused to take that because they can afford rail tickets, he said.
