M. Ram Mohan Rao takes part in Haritha Haram at Jambi Hanuman temple

Collector M. Ram Mohan Rao asked students to plant six saplings each on the premises of social welfare hostels and educational institutions and protect them by watering them regularly.

Participating in Haritha Haram along with MLA A. Jeevan Reddy at Jambi Hanuman temple on Sunday, he said saplings should be planted on the premises of temples, mosques and churches and wherever there was empty space.

Appealing to students, teachers, Haritha Haram volunteers and public representatives to extend their support to reach the target of planting 1.85 crore saplings, he said all should work together to make the district green. He said the authorities concerned were directed to ensure planting of the same variety of saplings on either side of roads.

The Collector later participated in the plantation programme at Model High School cum Junior College in Balkonda mandal headquarters.

District Rural Development Officer Venkateswarlu, Municipal Chairperson Swathi Singh Bablu and Tahsildar Rajender accompanied the Collector in Armoor.
