Teacher beats boy, damages eardrum

LUCKNOW: The science teacher of a government school at Indiranagar in the state allegedly thrashed a Class IX student so badly that the boy's eardrum got damaged. The victim's father filed a complaint at Indiranagar police station on Saturday.


The complainant Sunil Sharma said that he admitted his son recently in Class IX in a government inter college located in Sector-9, Indirangar.

"On Friday, the science teacher thrashed my son when he said that being new he was unaware of the homework and so could not do it," Sharma alleged.

"When he complained in ear after the incident, I took him to a doctor, who said that my son's eardrum has been seriously damaged and he would be under observation for 10 days and also he may have to to undergo a surgery," he said.

"On narrating the incident to the principal denied action. Then I went to Indiranagar police station to file a complaint," he added.

SHO Indiranagar, Mukul Verma said that a case will be registered after questioning the principal when the school re-opens on Monday.
