UP minister blames BJP for inaugurating their projects

Amid allegations from opposition parties that the BJP government stopped projects of previous governments, Industry minister Satish Mahana said that his government would honour commitments made by the UP government as governance was a continues process and should not be impacted by the change of regime.

“If an entrepreneur has made an investment following an assurance of incentive offered by the previous government, this regime will honour it as investmentss made in a state belong to the government and not to any political party,” Mahan told reporters on the sidelines of preparations being made for Ground Breaking ceremony in Lucknow on July 29.

To buttress his point, Mahana said that global electronic giant Samsung had signed MoUs worth over Rs 1,900 crore during the previous regime, but they were facing problems.

“We resolved their problems, and the expansion plan came up in our regime,” he said.

The minister said that no government could do politics with investment. “Our policy is clear. We will honour any investment made in the state by any investor during any regime,” he said.

“The BJP government is working hard to bring investments to the state. The beginning was made during Investors’ Meet in February and in July, we will create another history when 81 projects will be given Letters of Intent (LoI). Total investments in UP in the next two years will exceed investments made in the last 15 years,” he said.

Investments are expected in different sectors like housing, power, IT, sugarcane, horticulture, agriculture electronics, textiles and animal husbandry and were likely to generate around 2 lakh jobs.

Mahana claimed that UP has emerged as a favourite destination for  industrialists as the state has been able to harness the law and order situation. “Now entrepreneurs from Gujarat, who were earlier scared of putting their money in UP, are willing to pump in money here,” the minister said.

Mahana also took a dig at opposition parties particularly Samajwadi Party and BSP which blamed the BJP government of hijacking their schemes, saying that these parties should thank Yogi ji as they were unable to complete their projects which this regime has completed without any bias.
