Former Congress leader and Punjab Vidhan Sabha’s former Deputy Speaker Bir Devinder Singh on Friday expressed his anguish over cancellation of corruption case related to Amritsar Improvement Trust against Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Devinder, who was first to highlight the case in the Vidhan Sabha, said that he was aghast to see that ultimately, the state of Punjab has lost a case against institutionalized corruption.

“It sounds conspicuously bizarre when the State prosecution agency and the prime investigating agency — the State Vigilance Bureau — had betrayed the interest of the State and brazenly demolished their own flawless findings,” he said.
