BJP state president Madan Lal Saini said on Saturday that the Congress is confused on its leadership and people will decide if they will vote for a party that fights or a party that works in coordination.

He said the BJP has already declared Vasundhara Raje as the chief ministerial candidate, but a “fight is going on in the Congress between two faces.”

“People will have to decide whether they want a party that fights or a party that woks in coordination,” Saini told media persons after a meeting of Members of Parliament (MPs), which was called at the BJP office to discuss Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra of Raje that begins from August 4.

Replying to a question on changing the name of the yatra from Suraj Gaurav Yatra to Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra, he said, “The name of the yatra will be announced on August 4 with starting of yatra from Rajsamand.”

Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot had called the Suraj (good governance) Gaurav Yatra as kuraj (ill-governance) yatra. Bharat Vahini Party state president Ghanshyam Tiwari accused the BJP of stealing ‘Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra’, which was his yatra’s name; he said had declared it long back.

Saini said, “If the BJP rule in Rajasthan was kuraj (ill-governance), then no work would have taken place, the poor would not been benefitted, and the general public must have felt cheated. Nothing of such thing took place under the rule of chief minister Raje and people have got relief.”

He said people are getting breakfast for Rs 5, lunch and dinner for Rs 8, and housed under the chief minister housing scheme. “The chief minister has done so much for the state that it is Suraj Gaurav Yatra only, but the name of the yatra will be announced on August 4.”

The BJP state president said all MPs and MLAs have been directed to stay in their constituencies and monitor arrangements for the yatra.

On the absence of a few MPs, he said, “The date for this meeting was decided three days ago, whereas many MPs had pre-scheduled programmes; a meeting of scheduled tribe MPs is going on at Delhi, due to which they could not come to Jaipur. Those who could not come had taken my permission.”

On the absence of home minister and yatra convener Gulab Chand Kataria, he said, “Kataria is busy making arrangements at Charbhuja for the yatra, but co-convener Ashok Parnami was present at the meeting.”
