Build-up to the next edition of the Krithi International Festival of Books and Authors, 2019, organised by the State Department of Cooperation, will begin at U.C. College, Aluva, on July 30 with a lecture series titled ‘Writer of the Land’.
The event was inspired by the response stirred by the section on great authors at the maiden edition of Krithi early this year, which displayed their photographs, manuscripts, brief biographic sketches and voices. ‘The Writer of the Land’ lecture series will be conducted at various places in Kerala and will highlight each region’s major writers.
At the U.C. College, the series will be held from July 30 to August 13, from 2.30 p.m. daily. Critic M.K. Sanoo will inaugurate the series and deliver the first lecture. Stage adaptation of poems, poetry recitals, rendition of songs written by P.J. Antony, and staging of C.J. Thomas’s plays will also be undertaken. Over the fortnight, lectures will be delivered by eminent writers.
Samoohya Samrambhaka Co-operative Society in association with the Old Student Association of U.C. College is curating the series. For details, call Mini Alees, Department of Malayalam, on 94466 88672.
