Texas shooting: An active shooting situation is reported at a La Plaza Mall in McAllen.

Authorities say an attempted robbery at a jewellery store prompted a heavy police response following initial reports of an active shooter at a Texas mall, as reported by The Associated Press. All known suspects are in custody and there were no injuries resulting from the attempted robbery, says McAllen police Chief Victor Rodriguez in a statement that the city posted on its Twitter page.
