Illegal construction: South civic body seals 18 properties

Taking action against illegal construction, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Friday demolished parts of illegal construction in buildings and sealed 18 properties for violation of laid down norms in its areas.

A senior SDMC official said action was taken in areas of Old Mahavir Nagar, Hari Nagar, Asha Park, Basi Dara pur , Vasant Kunj Enclave and Ganesh Nagar wherein nine properties were sealed due to unauthorised construction. 

The official said the building department of Najafgarh Zone demolished parts of illegal construction from two properties in Vasant Kunj.  He also said that apart from this, illegally constructed portion of a property in Roshan Pura, Old Mahavir Nagar and Palam Village were also demolished and nine properties were sealed. The officials of the building department also faced resistance but still completed the drive in police presence, he said.
