Residents urge BMC for drain facility

Residents of Basudev Nagar under Ward-18 of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) have alleged they have been facing waterlogging problem for long due to negligence of the civic body.

They said the wastewater comprising canal water, latrine water and rainwater is being stagnated at an open land in the area as the drain created by the BMC two years back is fully clogged.

They also said water stagnated in the area is creating foul smells and breeding mosquitoes.  House located along the open land don’t open windows due to the water stagnation. The bore-well is also getting polluted due to the wastewater.

The residents have requested the BMC to take immediate steps and make the drains functional as soon as possible.
