PUNE: A consultant is set to be appointed to prepare a specific disaster management plan (
DMP) along with standard operating procedures for the
Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana in the fringe village areas of Pimpri Chinchwad.
In April this year, the ministry of housing and urban affairs had given guidelines for the disaster management plan to all state principal secretaries. Disaster resistant features and environment friendly technologies have been given by the national building code to ensure the structural safety of buildings. Cluster design would include an innovative water supply system, drainage and rain water harvesting, with special focus on solar energy, the guidelines stated.
Civic officials said that the consultant should give bifurcation costs for all the ten DMP projects. Bids have been invited to prepare the DMP, officials said. The PCMC has approved the construction of 2,376 affordable houses at Charholi, Borhadewadi and Ravet under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana. The
Maharashtra Pollution Control Board has given environmental clearance for the projects. The construction work should be completed in two and a half years, officials said.
A total of 2.5 FSI will be given for the project. While the central and the state governments will sanction Rs 1.5 lakh and 1 lakh respectively, the beneficiary will have to pay Rs 5.77 lakh in installments for the house. The tenements will be on lease for 99 years.
