C'garh launches health scheme for sanitation workers

The State Government had launched 'Gambhir Bhimari Chikitsa Sahata Yojana' (Chronic Diseases Assistance Scheme) for the Sanitation (Safai) workers, officials informed.

The beneficiaries will be provided Rs 50,000 financial assistance for various chronic diseases like-Kidney, Cancer, Sickle Cell, Anemia, Cardiac disease, AIDS and Paralysis.

The scheme will be monitored by the 'Chhattisgarh Asangatith Karmakar Rajya Samajik Suraksha Mandal. '

The member should be registered for at least a period of 90 days. The worker should be in age-group of 18-60 years. The worker can go to any Choice Centre and Govt computer centre and file an application. They should submit documents relating to the disease and what treatment is being done.

A circular relating to it had already been issued on June 2 by the Labour Department at the Mantralaya . The circular had been sent to all the 27 district collectors.
