Property dealer shot dead in Patna

PATNA: A property dealer Manjit Kumar Singh (38) was shot dead near slum area located under Bahadurpur police station area in Patna on late Friday night.
City SP (east) Rajendra Kumar Bheel said that Manjit, a property dealer, had dispute with several persons in Patna and Munger.

“He was shot dead by unidentified assailants when he was going someone on a bike from his rented accommodation at Kadamkuan,” Bheel said adding that investigations were on in connection with the incident.

He said CCTV camera footages of neighbouring areas were being scrutinised by police to identify the bike borne suspects who were trailing Manjit. The SP said that raids were on to nab the killer. He said Manjit was a native of Haveli Kharagpur in Munger district.

Bheel also said that following the incident, Bahadurpur police station SHO Sharda Prasad Singh, an inspector rank officer, was suspended on Saturday as it surfaced that he was on leave without even informing the senior police officials.

Singh was posted as SHO of Bahadurpur police station mere 20 days back after inspector Krishna Kumar Gupta and a sub-inspector Sudhanshu Shekhar were suspended by DIG (central range) Rajesh Kumar on July 9 for falsely implicating a couple in criminal case.
