The School Education Department, which has been effecting several major changes both in its structure and functioning, has appointed nodal officers to visit the districts and check whether all the government schemes are reaching the intended beneficiaries.
As part of the exercise, all the 20 Joint Directors across the State have been appointed as nodal officers. They will review the implementation of student welfare scheme and inspect schools.
Among the nodal officers are C. Usharani (Tiruvallur), V. Balamurugan (Thoothukudi), S. Sethuramavarma (Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Tiruppur), S. Uma (Villupuram), P.A. Naresh (Kancheepuram), K. Sasikala (Karur, Namakkal) and C. Selvaraj (Dindigul).
