A cab driver who went missing on Tuesday was found murdered on Wednesday in Rohini’s Haiderpur, the police said on Thursday.
Salimuddin was found dead with head injuries, said DCP (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta. On Tuesday, the cops found an SUV in Bawana. “Its owner, a resident of Mewat, said that the car was driven by his employee Salimuddin,” Mr. Gupta said.
A case under Section 365 (kidnapping) of the IPC was registered. Following this, Salimuddin’s body was found in Haiderpur on Wednesday.
The post-mortem was conducted on Thursday after which the cops added Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the IPC.
During investigation, they found that some passengers had booked a cab from Kashmere Gate but did not like it and asked the driver to book for another one. Then Salimuddin came there in an SUV which was taken to Murthal, the cop said, adding, “CCTV footage is being scanned to ascertain passengers’ identity.”
