Oil firms distribute relief to rain victims

In view of the torrential rains in the State, the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas had instructed the oil companies to ensure uninterrupted supplies of essential commodities like LPG, kerosene, diesel and petrol in the affected areas.

On the instruction from the Minister, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of oil companies’ State Coordinator Pritish Bharat.

In the meeting the officers of oil industries were asked to remain alert and take preemptive measures to ensure availability of fuels and its positioning.

Officials from the IOCL, BPCL and HPCL also distributed relief materials to needy people in the affected slums of Bhubaneswar and in districts like Sambalpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh and Kalahandi.
