Ludhiana: Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu lashed out against Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) after they staged a dharna outside municipal corporation office and locked it on Wednesday. In a press statement, Bittu said that the
SAD-BJP dharna against the state government in Ludhiana turned out to be a big flop show and has brought their real face in front of people.
Bittu said the protest was attended only by their leaders and not by the workers as both the parties are literally bankrupt when it comes to workers. He quipped that even the leaders were there to get their photographs clicked and make their political masters happy. The MP also said, “The day is not far when SAD-BJP would become workerless parties because their own workers are leaving as they have seen the real faces of their bosses. SAD-BJP has not only been rejected by the voters, but by their own workers as well. When the Congress party had organised a protest outside Ludhiana DC office during the previous government, the protest was attended by thousands of dedicated and hardworking workers. SAD-BJP are just shedding crocodile tears over the financial situation of MC to hide their own misdeeds and mismanagement when they were in power for last 10 years.”
He said the misgovernance and mismanagement of SAD-BJP government between 2011 and 2017 can be known from the fact that during their 10 years of rule in Ludhiana MC, they not only took loan of Rs 370 crore, but also usurped FD of Rs 100 crore. All these funds were used without any clear planning and was splurged in collusion with crony contractors. Bittu urged the SAD-BJP leaders to stop the drama and assist the Congress government in the path of development of masses. Otherwise both the parties will completely be wiped out from the political scene of the state.
