HYDERABAD: A four-year-old girl studying in a private school at
Madgul in
Mahbubnagar district was crushed under the
school bus while returning home
on Friday evening due to negligence of the driver.

Vaishnavi was a nursery student of St Mary’s school in
Madgul. The mishap occurred when she was returning home from the school,”
Madgul inspector P
Saidulu said.
At
5.30 pm,
Vaishnavi got down from the school bus along with five other students near her house in
Palugu
Tanda. “After the children got down, the bus driver moved ahead without checking the surroundings. The bus hit
Vaishnavi who was standing next to it and she was crushed under the tyres. There is no clarity on how she went under the bus,” the inspector said.
After the accident, the bus driver fled from the scene abandoning the vehicle. The family members of the girl demanded the school management to come to the village and refused to hand over the body of the child to police.
“We have registered a case against the bus driver and the management of the school under section 304-A (causing death due to rash or negligent act) of the IPC. We are trying to convince the family to hand over the body for
postmortem examination,” the inspector said.
