Indore: Register FIR against junior doctors, college tells police 


Indore: The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College administration on Thursday asked police to register FIR against five doctors who are office bearers of Junior Doctors’ Association. Moreover, the college administration will serve notices to PG students for vacating college hostels on Friday.

“We have dashed off letter to police to register FIR against five junior doctors including Dr KS Tiwari, Dr Anshuman Pancholi and Dr Mohit Tank for disrupting health services of MY hospital by going on strike,” MGM Medical College dean Dr Sharad Thora said. He said they have been rusticated from the college.

Dr Thora said hostel wardens have been directed to ensure that students on strike vacate hostels. College and MY Hospital administration pasted a notice about court’s order and warned them to return to work. However, junior doctors remained on strike on Thursday to press for their demands that include increase in stipend.


Nursing, paramedical staff call off strike

The paramedical and nursing staff, technicians called off strike on Thursday and returned to work. President of Sanyukta Morcha Swasthya Karmchari Sangathan Sohanlal Sharma said, “We called off strike after court orders. Medical education department officials have also assured us to look into our demands.”

Hospital’s claims fall flat

The claims of MY Hospital administration to run health services with substitutes fell flat on Thursday as no doctor reached OPD till 9.30 am. The OPD functions from 8 am to 2 pm. Hospital did not receive patients due to strike.
