Pakistan elections: Why Kashmir is contentious issue for Imran Khan?

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan is all set to become the next prime minister of the country. The party emerged as single largest in the general elections. While addressing the media , Imran stressed on better ties with India. But, going by Imran Khan's statement of Kashmir being the core issue, would it be possible to have better ties between the two nations? Imran is close to Pakistani Army which is known to dictate a hardline stance on relations with India. Pakistani Army and ISI have derailed peace talks with India in the past and this is likely to be repeated again. On the other hand, Imran will also be dependent on support from independents some of whom are backed by militant groups. These equations raise doubt on his intention to have better relations with India.
