The State Prisons Department will act as facilitator in helping the ex-prisoners to lead a normal life by getting loans for business and job opportunities through its new initiative ‘After care Service’.

“Officers of all central and districts prisons are undergoing training, who will later help the ex-prisoners to lead a normal life by providing them loans through various banks and jobs, so that they should not return to a life of crime,” said Director General (Prisons and Correctional Services) V. K. Singh. He said that the main objective of the concept is to prevent the offenders coming back to prisons again and empty the all the prisons by making Telangana a crime-free State.

The new initiative will be launched soon, he said.

Change in attitude

“We are known for our social service initiatives, which have brought tremendous change in the attitude of prisoners and ex-prisoners too,” Mr. Singh said.
