HYDERABAD: Six days after an Intermediate student was found murdered at an under construction site for government double-bedroom houses in Asif Nagar, two persons, including a trader, were arrested from their houses on Friday.

B Vishnu (23), trader from in Seetharambagh and P Tilak (24), an unemployed youth from Afzal Sagar, attacked K Vignesh Bandili (19), of Aghapura with a stick on his head on the intervening night of July 21-22 leading to the victim's instantaneous death, additional DCP, west zone, M Venkateswarulu said.

Vishnu and Tilak met Vignesh near his house on the fateful night and later had gone to Lakshminarasimha bar in Gudimalkapur where they consumed liquor. In a drunken condition, the trio went to the under construction site at Bhojagutta when a heated argument ensued between the accused duo and Vignesh. In a fit of rage, they killed the student.

Initially, Vignesh’s identity could not be established. It was only after two days, on July 23, family members of Vignesh approached the Asifnagar police after coming across his photographs in media and confirmed his identity. The family members told cops that Vignesh had left the house at 9 pm on July 21 and did not return. Police analysed the CCTV camera footage at Bhojaguttta where the body was found and at the victim’s house in Afzal Sagar. Cops also analysed the cellphone details of the victim and zeroed in on Vishnu and Tilak.

Vignesh met Vishnu and Tilak three months ago through a common friend Ravi after Vignesh had a quarrel with his friends — Fareed, Chintu, Aslam and Ashish — over a petty issue. Ravi introduced Vignesh to the asccused duo and asked them to support Vignesh. Vishnu and Tilak warned Fareed to keep away from Vignesh. Since then, Vignesh became a friend of Vishnu and Tilak. Subsequently, Vishnu asked Vignesh to loan him some money. However, Vishnu was upset when he saw Vignesh moving closely with Fareed and picked up an argument with him.

Both the accused were sent to judicial remand.
