Vadodara: As the week-long transporters’ strike ended on Friday, the Forum of Federations, Chambers and Associations of Gujarat (FFCAG) said that it has adversely affected the businesses in Gujarat. The forum estimated that Gujarat’s economy could have faced loss of Rs 40,000 crore if the strike would have continued for two more days.
“The nationwide strike by the road transport associations is hitting hard the businesses in Gujarat as they are finding it difficult to move their orders and shipments on time for exports. It is adversely affecting our state and country’s economy,’ the form said in a release.

“Production has also been affected as raw material is not available and industries are finding it difficult to continue their operations. It has brought unemployment, especially in SMEs and unorganized sectors,” Ashok Patel, president of the forum said.
