Five things to watch out for today

The results of the Pakistan general elections will be announced today.  The scenario is expected to be clear by noon. There are  272 seats for direct election and 70 reserved seats. To form government, a party/alliance has to get 172 of the 342 seats. 

Huawei is expected to launch the Nova 3 and Nova 3i in the country. Huawei says the phones will have GPU Turbo a graphics processing acceleration technology that will help accelerate the mobile gaming experience. The pricing and availability of the phones will be announced during the launch. 

The Uttar Pradesh government will present a 'vision document' on the Taj Mahal in Agra before the Supreme Court.  This document, prepared by the Delhi School of Planning and Architecture, was put together after the apex court came down heavily on the government while hearing a petition filed by environmentalist M.C. Mehta.  

The Madras High Court will hear a writ petition filed by DMK president M. Karunanidhi in 2015, challenging the proceedings of the Justice R. Reghupathy Commission of Inquiry. The Commission was constituted by the AIADMK government in 2011 to probe alleged irregularities in the construction of a multi-crore building, currently housing the government multi super speciality hospital on Anna Salai. 

The Indian women’s hockey team will take on a lower-ranked Ireland in its second game of the World Cup, in London on Thursday.  Ireland is currently leading Pool B just ahead of England and India and a win tomorrow would secure Ireland’s place in the knock-out stage of the tournament. The Indians, on the other hand, would be desperate to score their first win in the tournament.
