Kerala Police’s appeal to top Bengaluru Police Facebook account gets hilarious reactions

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM. Kerala Police, through a meme, recently requested Facebook users to increase the likes of its page so that it can beat the Bengaluru Traffic Police page, currently the number one police account in terms of likes in the country.

Taking inspiration from their Bengaluru Traffic counterpart on Facebook, Kerala Police, of late, has been posting advisories and social messages in the form of witty memes, to grab more eyeballs.

Making a shift from their old-school Facebook posting style, the Kerala police department constituted a special team of six cops to create and post memes and to interact casually with the public who follow their social media handles.

The strategy paid dividends and the proactive approach of the department to change the public perception about police force found many takers.

The tongue-in-cheek replies given by the police to random troll comments have been lapped up by public.

For instance, when Santhosh Thulaseedharakurup, cheekily said “If we share yours posts and increase the reach, promise that you will not catch us if we do any wrong in future”, Kerala Police account replied “No, that is not possible at all”. Both the comments received several likes.

The Kerala Police page is full of such banter.

As a result, its social media engagement has experienced a considerable spike during the last few weeks.

However, with 480k likes, Kerala Police’s Facebook account is still trailing Bengaluru Traffic police account, which has 500k likes, a number it should cross soon.
